Betty H. (Lutz) Stacey

            Betty H. (Lutz) Stacey passed away Thursday morning September 17, 2020 at her residence.

            She was born in Altoona a daughter of the late William Carl and Edna (Whitesel) Heller. She was twice married, first to Carl D. Lutz, then to Ronald R. Stacey on July 7, 2007 in Hollidaysburg, PA.

            Surviving are her husband Ronald; a daughter Charleane Wood (Dale) of Altoona; a son, David Lutz (Kathie) of Bellmeade; a son, William Lutz (Amy) of Altoona; Ron’s children, Becky Stacey of South Carolina and Kevin Stacey (Holly) of Rhode Island; five grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; and two sisters-in-law, Lois Heller and Sondra Stacey (Terry) all of Altoona.

            Betty was preceded in death by two sisters, Dottie Heller and Peggy Summers; her twin brother William Heller, Jr.; and a grandson, Desmond Lutz.

            Mrs. Stacey was a very active member of Second Avenue United Methodist Church, Altoona.

            She was employed by the City of Altoona for thirty-five years. First by PA/Blair County/City of Altoona/ EMA office from 1962 until 1983, and then following by the City of Altoona as Deputy Controller from 1983 until her retirement in 1997.

            Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. Tuesday September 22, 2020 at Second Avenue United Methodist Church, 130 Second Avenue, Altoona where a Celebration Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Brian Sandell officiating. Interment will be made at the convenience of the family.
