Obituary
Brian E. Crowley, 56 of Altoona died Thursday afternoon February 16, 2023 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh following a brief illness.
He was born March 22, 1966, in Portsmouth, VA a son of the late Carl E. and Ethel J. “Toots” (Vipond) Crowley. He married Angela R. Crotsley on October 1, 1988 at Second Avenue United Methodist Church, Altoona.
Surviving are his wife, Angela; a daughter, Sarah E. Crowley of Altoona; two grandchildren, Kason and Briella; four sisters, Debra Craig (Tom) of Altoona, Collie Alderiso (Jim) of Florida, Terry Waugh of Altoona, and Carla Whalen of Altoona; mother-in-law, Lorna Kay Snyder of Altoona, and sisters-in-law, Crystal D. Sunday (Donnie), and Sherry J. Hagerty (Rob) both of Altoona; and numerous extended family members.
Mr. Crowley was a member of Second Avenue United Methodist Church, Altoona.
He was a 1984 graduate of Altoona Area High School, and then following, Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science degree.
Brian was employed as an intake case manager with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Human Services, and as a driver for Thompson Pharmacy. He was formerly employed by Home Nursing Agency as a case manager, and by the Altoona Area School District Transportation Department.
He loved the outdoors, and tinkering on projects at home, but he especially loved to spend time with his grandchildren and family.
Friends will be received from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm Monday February 20, 2023, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona where a funeral service will be held at 6:00 pm. Interment will be made at Alto Reste Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations please be made to the Central Pennsylvania Community Foundation, 1616 East Plesant Valley Boulevard, Altoona, PA 16602.
