He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, son of the late Jesse B. and Doris (Hanks) Kephart. On June 8, 1963, he married Linda Lee Kelly in Juniata, Altoona. She preceded him in death on March 15, 2004.

Surviving are three children: a daughter, Kelly L. Kephart of Altoona; a daughter, Kathy L. Kephart (James Garland) of Ephrata: and a son, Kevin B. Kephart in North Carolina; three grandchildren: Jeffrey Kephart, Meghan Dryburgh (Matt) and Gage Kephart; four great-granddaughters; and a sister, Kara Krywyj (Dan) of Strongsville, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly A. “Kimmy” Kephart on Sept. 4, 2017; and a brother, Alan Kephart.

He attended West Tech High School in Cleveland and Penn State for computer programming. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving from 1959-63, attaining the rank of QM2.

Bruce retired from Newborn Enterprises in January 2014 with 38 years of service. He managed their video distribution department and went on to become their specialty buyer. He was a member of the Juniata VFW Bernard A. Good Post 8685, also known as Fort Apache and the Tin Can Sailors. He served on the board of directors for Mattern House Inc.

He was an avid Ohio State “Buckeye” sports fan, which was hard for him at times living in the Nittany Valley. He enjoyed playing golf with his work and VFW buddies and if you played with him you knew to follow the USGA rules. Bruce had a love for Las Vegas, whether it was gambling or watching “Big Elvis” perform.
