Burt J. Sherry

            Burt J. Sherry, 53, of Altoona died unexpectedly Tuesday evening August 15, 2023, at his residence.

            He was born October 8, 1969, in Altoona, a son of the late Regis Charles and Barbara Jean (Thompson) Sherry. He married Patricia A. Henry on February 22, 2022, in Altoona.

            Surviving are his wife, Patty; three children, daughter Payne Sherry, son Keihin Sherry, son Talon Sherry; four step-children, step-son Kevin Henry (Mary), step-son Barry Shannon (Jennifer), step-son Tyler Shannon (Katherine), and step-daughter Brena Boyles (Jack) all of Altoona; nine step-grandchildren; siblings, Tracie O’Brien of Davisonville, MD, Rusty Sherry of Maryland, Ronnie Sherry of California; and numerous extended family members.

            He was a 1987 graduate of Altoona Area High School.

            Burt was a U.S. Army veteran attaining the rank of Private First Class.

            He was employed as supervisor for Labor Specialties, Inc. since May of 1993.

            He enjoyed riding BMX, motorcycles, fishing, boating, spending time with his step-grandchildren.

            A gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday August 28, 2023, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc. where a memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m.

            In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the family in care of the funeral home would be appreciated.
