Charles “Chuck” Patrick Meckley, 61 of East Freedom died Sunday April 22, 2018 at home.
He was born June 15, 1956 in Altoona a son of Sheldon and the late Dorothy (McMullen) Meckley.
Surviving are his dad, Sheldon; a sister, Amy Clouse and husband Mark; a nephew, Aaron and many cousins.
He retired after 30 plus years from U.S. Food as a food quality controller.
He was a graduate of Altoona Area High School then attended Lynchburg Baptist College (Liberty University).
Chuck joined the East Freedom Fire Department in 1978 he was a life time member with 40 years of service. He served as a president, vice president, and trustee. He served as a past president for Central District Fireman Association in 2014. He was also a fire police, assist chief, duty chief and forest fire warden and served on many committees and fundraisers.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and stock cars.
Friends will be received Thursday April 26, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona, where a service will take place at 8:00 p.m. Internment will take place privately at Grandview Cemetery.
