Dahlgren L. (Rouzer) Horton

            Dahlgren L. Horton, 86 of Altoona died early Wednesday afternoon December 23, 2020 at Maybrook Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Altoona.

            She was born December 24, 1933 in Altoona a daughter of the late Vaul E. and H. Audrey (McCoy) Rouzer. She married Howard G. Horton on November 20, 1954 in Altoona. He preceded her in death September 26, 1992.

            Surviving are two children, daughter Kim L. Shoeman (John); son Howard V. “Buck” Horton (Barbara) all of Altoona; five grandchildren, Matthew Shoeman (Michele), Amber York, Jennifer Horton, Jeremy Horton (Christina) and Mandy Horton (Adam); fifteen great grandchildren; one great great grandson all of Altoona; and a niece Kimberly Houp of Hollidaysburg.

            Mrs. Horton was a member of Altoona First Church of the Brethren.

            She was a 1951 graduate of Altoona High School and then graduated from the Altoona Hospital School of Nursing.

            Dahlgren retired as a Registered Nurse from Valley View Nursing Home in 1993 following twenty-seven years of service.

            She enjoyed ceramics, macrame and knitting.

            Private viewing and funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.

            Interment will be made at Grandview Cemetery, Altoona.
