David M. Brown

            David M. Brown, 50 of Altoona died Tuesday afternoon October 6, 2020 at his residence.

            He was born March 19, 1970 in Altoona a son of the late Ralph F. and Helen L. (Bass) Brown.

            Surviving are his mother, Helen L. Brown with whom he resided; his sister, Suzanne B. Furman (James) of Hollidaysburg; his brother, Gregory S. Brown (Carol) of Colorado; four nieces; a nephew; a great niece; and numerous extended family members.

            David was preceded in death by a sister, Deborah A. Brown.

            Mr. Brown was a member of First Baptist Church, Altoona.

            He was a 1991 graduate of the special education program at Altoona Area High School.

            He spent his days with his ACEL (Adult Center for Exceptional Learning) family.

            He enjoyed listening to music, watching Disney movies and watching Penn State and Pittsburgh Steelers football with his mother. One of his greatest joys was rocking in his recliner while listening to his favorite music.

            In the last few years, David enjoyed spending time with his caregivers from Home Helpers.          He was the “light of his mother’s life” and due to his special needs, his occupation was making everyone around him smile.

            A viewing and funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family with Pastor Tyler Pepper officiating.

            Interment will be made at Carson Valley Cemetery, Duncansville.

            The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to the staff of VIP Hospice for the wonderful support and care David received in the last weeks of his life.
