Deborah A. Nearhoof passed away August 5, 2023, at her home in Mesa, Arizona, after a 15-year battle with cancer and a lifetime full of love and happiness. She was born February 22, 1960, in Altoona to Doramae (Spencer) and Robert Ellis.
A strong and kind soul, Deborah was a nurse for 28 years and cared deeply for her dialysis patients. She was adored by her patients and co-workers alike and made many friends.
Deborah enjoyed traveling, spending time with her daughter, Rachel, and living life to the fullest. Her greatest happiness came from her only child, but Coke Icees were a close second. She loved flamingos and would spend every evening poolside if she could.
She is survived by her daughter, Rachel and son-in-law, Douglas Renear of Phoenix, Arizona. She is also survived by her father, Robert of Hollidaysburg, and siblings, James (Sherry) of Chambersburg, and Brian (Dawn) of Altoona, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her former husband, Robert, her mother, Doramae, and her older brother, Robert.
She will be missed endlessly by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
A memorial gathering and service will be held for family and friends in the Arnold Hall community room of the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home, Sunday August 20, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
