Debra A. Sadler, 72 of Altoona died Saturday afternoon April 15, 2023, at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Altoona following an extended illness.
She was born October 31, 1950, in Altoona, a daughter of Robert M. Erndl and Grace M. (Allison) Erndl. She married Charles C. Sadler on May 7, 1977, at Llyswen United Methodist Church, Altoona. He preceded her in death May 10, 2021.
Surviving are a nephew, Walter J. “Wally” Zapotoczny, II and his wife Melissa of Altoona; a special cousin, Denise Padelford, her husband Lee and their son Kyle of Taunton, MA; and numerous extended family members, and her best buddy, her fur baby, Max Sadler.
Debra was preceded in death by a brother Michael Kane, and a sister, Lynn Zapotoczny.
Mrs. Sadler was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Lakemont.
She was a 1968 graduate of Altoona Area High School.
Debra retired as a wound care technician from Bon Secours / UPMC Altoona in 2012 following forty years’ service.
She was an active volunteer for “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.” She also enjoyed playing Bunko, attending festivals, shopping, listening to country music and attending country music concerts, and, most especially, spending time with her family.
Debra also enjoyed attending the monthly retired hospital employees’ luncheons.
Friends will be received from 5-7 p.m. Friday April 28, 2023, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona. Interment will be made at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
