Destiny M. Gibson

            Destiny Meshal Gibson, 37, of Altoona, died early Saturday morning, January 1, 2022, at her residence.

            Born on July 17, 1984, in Johnstown, a daughter of the late Richard Williams and Christine (Gates) Smith. She married Christopher R. Gibson on January 2, 2006, in Altoona.

            Surviving along with her husband of 15 years are her two daughters: Amiradama Smith-Banks, Ce’lestine Gibson; her mother, Christine Smith; two siblings: Parris Smith of State College, Kassandra Smith of Altoona; two aunts: Kelly Dempsey (Michael) of Pittsburgh and Paulette De'Jesus (Orlando) of Delaware; and numerous extended family members and friends.

            She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Williams, a brother, Rodney Smith, an aunt, Patrice Joanne Gates, maternal grandparents, Warren A. and Bernadette (Feketi) Gates, and her mother-in-law, Anita Gibson.

            Destiny attended Fourth Avenue Mennonite Church, Altoona. She enjoyed attending Bible study with her five friends: Anna Mae, Gloria, Joanne, Lorraine, and Mabel.

            She was a 2002 graduate of Altoona Area High School.

            Destiny enjoyed listening to music, spending time with her family and friends, and her two cats.

            A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at 11 a.m. at the Fourth Avenue Mennonite Church, 2500 4th Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602, brother Tim Martin officiating.
