Dolores C. "Dee" (Johnson) Kauffman

            Dolores C. “Dee” Kauffman, 88 formerly of Altoona died Thursday afternoon August 1, 2019 at the Village at Morrisons Cove, Martinsburg.

            She was born December 13, 1930 in Altoona a daughter of the late Warren and Evelyn (Brandt) Johnson. She was twice married, first in 1954 to James Hartline who preceded her in death in 1963, then in 1964 to Donald Kauffman who preceded her in death.

            Surviving are two daughters, Cathy Ann Tellish and Deborah M. Caldwell both of Altoona; eight grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; three sisters, Beverly Whiteman, Alene Hartline (James) and Mary Nearhoof (Charles) all of Altoona; and three brothers, Daryl Johnson (Carol) of Bellwood, Ronald Johnson (Lina) of Altoona and Frank Johnson (Darlene) of Virginia.

            Dee was preceded in death by a son, Dale Johnson and a sister, Dorothy Johnson and two brothers, Warren Johnson, Jr. and Alan Johnson.

            Mrs. Kauffman attended Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona.

            She was formerly employed as a waitress at Tom & Joe’s Restaurant; the Altoona Hospital in the laundry and x-ray departments; and the laundry department of the former Penn Alto Hotel.

            Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday August 5, 2019 at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona where a funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Interment will be made at Grandview Cemetery, Altoona.
