Dolores Jane Wachter

               Dolores Jane “Dee” Wachter, 83, of Altoona, died Tuesday afternoon May 9, 2023, at her residence following an extended illness.

            She was born February 3, 1940, in Altoona, a daughter of the late Mayberry McClelland and Rebecca Jane (Yon) Musselman. She married Leo E. Wachter on May 13, 1958, in Jamestown, NY. He preceded her in death February 28, 2005.

            Surviving are four children, daughter Cecelia R. Forr of Hollidaysburg and her husband David P. Forr of Ellicott City, MD, and Lynn M. Gregory (James) of Hollidaysburg, Kenneth L. Wachter (Karen) of Snohomish, WA, and Terry A. Wachter (Lisa) of Roaring Spring; ten grandchildren, Sabrina, Jonathan, John, Allen, Kelli, Krista, Adam, Alica, Bradley, Alex; seven great grandchildren, Savannah, Jack, Leo, Ryann, Luke, Allie, Sawyer; several nieces and nephews; and her companion, Dave Port.

            Dee was a member of Faith United Church of Christ, Altoona.

            She enjoyed playing Bingo, word-find puzzles, and jig-saw puzzles.

            Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday May 16, 2023, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona where a funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. John L. Emig officiating. Interment will be made at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
