Doris May (Beichler) Burris

            Doris May Burris, 89 of Juniata, Altoona died Tuesday morning September 3, 2019 at her residence.

            She was born July 8, 1930 in Altoona a daughter of the late James and Estella (Liebig) Beichler. She married William J. Burris on August 7, 1948 in Altoona. He preceded her in death June 2, 1996.

            Surviving are four children, son Russell J. Burris; son William G. Burris; son Steven W. Burris; daughter Amy V. Koch (Frank) all of Altoona; seven grandchildren; a brother, James Beichler of Tyrone and a sister, Barbara Schuler of Georgia.

            Doris was preceded in death by a son, Harvey Allen Burris in 1977 and a sister, Patricia Gracy.

            Mrs. Burris was a member of Community Bible Church, Juniata.

            She was a 1948 graduate of Altoona High School.

            Doris enjoyed attending church, especially the “Jolly 60’s” group.

            Friends will be received from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday September 9, 2019 at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona where a funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday with Pastor Gary Dull and Pastor Kenneth Beichler co-officiating.

Interment will be made at Grandview Cemetery, Altoona.
