Ella A. (Zitsch) Grassmyer

            Ella A. Grassmyer, 76 of Pinecroft, Altoona died early Friday morning February 5, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her loving children.

            She was born January 4, 1945 in Altoona a daughter of the late Lester G. and Elsie E. (Elway) Zitsch. She was happily married to Charles S. Grassmyer, Sr. for 51 years.

            Surviving are a daughter Elaine Pfahler (Mark) of Pinecroft;  a daughter Theresa Blunk (William "Butch") of Brooksville, FL; a daughter Sally Garman (Patrick) of Altoona; a daughter Sharon Burgoon (Terry Leader) of Pinecroft; son Charles "Junior" Grassmyer (Lisa Dickson) of Pinecroft; nine grandchildren, April; Alycia; Ricky; Krystal; Tiffany; Christine; Shawn; Scott; Dalton; eighteen great grandchildren, Ethan, Nathan, Brendan, Cameron, Kinsley, Adalyn, Bailey, Connor, Mia, Scotty, Abel, Danny, Charlie, Bella, Kennedy, Ryker, Parker and Dwayne; a brother Ralph (Donna) Zitsch and a sister Evelyn Zitsch; and a sister-in-law Nancy Zitsch.

            Ella was preceded in death by three brothers, Oliver, Paul, and Kenneth Zitsch.

            Mrs. Grassmyer was a member of Pinecroft United Methodist Church.

            She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ella also enjoyed playing Bingo, roller-skating, camping, and fishing along the river in Petersburg.

            A private viewing and funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.

            Interment will be made at Grandview Cemetery, Altoona.
