Emilie Lou (Sharbaugh) Hatch passed away peacefully surrounded by her family after battling pancreatic cancer.
She was born and raised in Altoona a daughter of the late Paul L. and Catherine J. (Spielvogle) Sharbaugh.
Emilie was married for 65 years to Richard T. Hatch, who preceded her in death this past January. Together they had four children, Richard P. Hatch (deceased), Lisa Winrick (John), Jerome Hatch (Sherry), and Thomas Hatch (Jeannie); grandchildren, John (Rene), Matthew, and Michael Winrick, Jessica (Leigh-Ann), Joshua (William), and Jacob Hatch; great granddaughter, Devyn Winrick; sisters, Shirley Wharton of Georgia, and Mary-Ann Udoutch of California; and many special sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul, formerly of Altoona, Richard, formerly of Chicago, and David Sharbaugh, formerly of California; and many brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law.
Emilie was a graduate of Altoona Catholic High School, where she met Richard.
She retired from Warnaco and, later, was employed by Isabella’s Gift Shop.
Emilie loved her family deeply and enjoyed shopping for that “special” gift for each of them. She also enjoyed sitting poolside, and trips to the beach.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday November 9, 2022, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Altoona with Rev. Carl Vacek, officiant.
