Frederick J. “Rick” Albright, III, 75 of Altoona died Monday evening November 15, 2021, at UPMC Altoona.
He was born January 13, 1946, in Altoona a son of the late Frederick J., II and Susan (Henry) Albright. He married Nancy Jean Colombo on November 27, 1965, in Altoona.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Jeannie; daughter Nicole M. Auman (Shawn) of Duncansville; five grandchildren, Katelyn Goodman, Rachael Bowser (Noah), Lauren Albright, Camden Auman, and Will Auman; a great granddaughter, expected in late January; brother Denny Albright (Carol) of Claysburg; sister-in-law, Carol Albright of Altoona; sister-in-law, Connie Hollingsworth (John) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Rick was preceded in death by his son and best friend, Andrew J. “Andy” Albright on July 28, 2017.
He was a 1964 graduate of Altoona High School.
He retired as a machinist from F. L. Smithe Machine Company, Inc. following 36 years’ service.
Rick was a devoted husband to Jeannie, and he loved spending time with his entire family. He was an avid Notre Dame football fan, and he also enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers. Rick was intelligent and had a quick wit. He enjoyed history and discussing politics.
Rick will be deeply missed by his family and by all of those who were fortunate enough to call him a friend.
A Celebration of Life is planned to be held to honor Rick at a later date.
