G. Paul Gonzales

            G. Paul Gonzales, 67, of Altoona died peacefully Saturday afternoon February 18, 2023, at his residence.

            He was born August 17, 1955, in Española, New Mexico, son of the late Arturo and Cornelia Lujan Gonzales. He married Dorola Lee Myton on October 18, 1977. She preceded him in death April 20, 1993.

            Surviving are his three children, son, Lawrence G. “Larry” Gonzales (Stacie) of New Jersey, daughter Rachel D. Franco (Jose) of New York, son Eric J. Gonzales of Altoona; six siblings, Charles Gonzales (Florence) of Sacramento, CA, David Gonzales (Jackie) of El Rancho, NM, Daniel Gonzales (Christina) of Taos, NM, Steven Gonzales of Clovis, NM, Dyanne Hagevoort (Robert) of Albuquerque, NM and Benjamin Gonzales of Sacramento, CA; and numerous extended family members.

            He was preceded in death by two brothers, Arturo Gonzales and Johnny Gonzales.

            Paul, earlier in his life, was a self-employed building contractor. He retired from the Altoona Parking Authority.

            He loved spending time with his family and had an overwhelming compassion for others. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, and anything to do in the outdoors.

            Friends will be received from 12:00 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona.
