Harvey David Rairie, 58, of Altoona, also known to his many radio fans as, Caleb James, died unexpectedly early Tuesday morning June 22, 2021 at UPMC Altoona.
He was born September 9, 1962 in DuBois a son of Harvey Delone Rairie and the late Linda Savoia. Harvey married Wendy Ann Williams on September 3, 1988 in Reynoldsville.
Surviving are his father and mother, Harvey D. and Deborah (Deible) Rairie of Florida; his wife, Wendy; four children, Brandon M. Rairie of Hollidaysburg, Hannah N. Rairie (Brandon Bare), Madison A. Rairie (Noah Walstrom) and Nathan J. Rairie (Taylor Weathersbee); a grandson, Elijah “Eli” Hughes and a grandson, Evan Bare expected in August, all of Altoona; a brother, Bryan Rairie of California; two sisters, Jessica Carter of Florida and Kim Rairie of York, PA.
Mr. Rairie was the founder and preacher at Altoona Church of Christ.
He was a 1981 graduate of DuBois High School and a graduate of Clarion University with a degree in communications.
Harvey was employed for years as an on-air radio personality in the Altoona area and also worked as a sales representative. His greatest love in life was spending time with his family, to whom he was an awesome father, and he also loved to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
He enjoyed bible study and was a media connoisseur.
A Celebration of Life is planned to be held at a future date.
Interment will be made at Grandview Cemetery, Altoona.
