Hector De La Garza

            Hector “Hec” De La Garza, 69, of Altoona died Wednesday afternoon October 31, 2018 at UPMC Altoona.

            He was born September 29, 1949 in Laredo, Texas.

            Surviving are his wife, Emma Louise Dorsey of Altoona; two children, daughter Pamela L. Queen of Roaring Spring; son Jonah E. Dorsey and his wife Charlene of Altoona; nine grandchildren: Aleeta, Jazzmin, Coty, Kayla, Nadalia, Tyler, Phillip, Dillon and Terrance; and nine great grandchildren.

            Hector was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Michael Dorsey and his in-law’s, Raymond and Reba Morgan.

            He retired as a lineman and construction worker in 1995 after twenty-five years’ service.

            Hector enjoyed all types of sports especially boxing and football and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He also enjoyed old westerns, reading and fishing.

            Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (noon) Monday November 5, 2018 at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona where a funeral service will be held at noon with Pastor Sonja McNeal officiating.
