Herman Ianniello Obituary

              Herman Victor “Vic” Ianniello, 87, died early Wednesday morning November 10, 2021 at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home.

            He was born October 17, 1934, in Patton a son of the late Domenic and Angelina (Terezza) Ianniello. He married Patricia Ann Dubetsky on January 12, 1957, in Wichita, KS. She preceded him in death June 30, 2021.

            Surviving are a son, John A. Ianniello of Altoona; a daughter, Vicki L. Fowler and husband, Ritchy, of W.Va.; a granddaughter, Melanie A. Ianniello (Hunter Van Ormer) of Lancaster; two special nieces: Lori McKnight and Cathy Gocella; a special great-niece, Kate McKnight; a sister in law: Marcella Ianniello of Altoona; and numerous extended family members.

            He was preceded in death by a son, Michael A. Ianniello, July 28, 1980; three brothers, John, Joseph, and Paul Ianniello; and two sisters, Erminia Ianniello and Anna Mae Bopp.

            Mr. Ianniello was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Altoona.

            He was a 1952 graduate of Patton High School and attended Penn State University.

            Vic was a U.S. Army veteran during the Korean War.

            He retired as a machinist from Sylvania following 30 years’ service. He then was employed in the maintenance department of the Altoona Area Vo-Tech School retiring from there in 1997.

            He was an avid bowler and enjoyed golfing. Vic also enjoyed pitching horseshoes.

            He was a life member of the Bavarian Aid Society.

            Friends will be received Friday, November 19, 2021, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona where a vigil service for the deceased will be held during the visitation.

            A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 20, 2021, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., with Rev. Brad Baldwin, T.O.R., officiating. Committal rites will be held at Calvary Cemetery which will be followed by full military honors.

            In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can made to the Bavarian Aid Society, 112 S 13th St, Altoona, PA 16602.
