Isabell M. “Issy” Dumbeck-Espenlaub, 98, died Wednesday morning October 20, 2021, at Presbyterian Village of Hollidaysburg.
She was born November 28, 1922, in Duncansville, a daughter of the late Elmer and Minnie (Teeter) Snyder. She was twice married, first to Joseph Dumbeck who preceded her in death on May 12, 1975. She then married Charles Espenlaub June 4, 1977 in Hollidaysburg and he preceded her in death on October 23, 1988.
Surviving are four daughters, Ruth Grimes (Merle) of Dysart; Janet Hufford of Martinsburg; Shirley Boose of Altoona; Joan Weyer (Ron) of Greenwood; eight grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and a stepson, Ronald Espenlaub (Karyn) of Altoona.
Issy was preceded in death by two sons-in-law: Ronald Hufford and Michael Boose; two stepchildren, Charles and Lois Jane Espenlaub; a grandson, Terry Boose; four brothers: Charles, Donald, Fred, and James Snyder; and a sister: Geraldine Rhodes.
Isabell was a member of East End United Methodist Church, Altoona.
She retired as a custodian from Roosevelt Junior High School in 1977 following seventeen years’ service.
Issy enjoyed playing bingo and cards, embroidery and especially spending time with her family.
She was a lifetime member of The Bavarian Aid Society.
Friends will be received from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday October 26, 2021, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona where a funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. with Pastor Fred Hickok officiating.
Interment will be made at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
