Jack A. Long, 92 of Hollidaysburg died Wednesday evening May 24, 2023, at Cedarwood Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Tyrone with his beloved wife by his side.
He was born January 24, 1931, in Bloomfield Township, Bedford County, a son of the late Harold and Ida Bell (Keagy) Long. He married Donna Faye McCracken and together they shared 68 years of marriage.
Surviving are his wife, Faye; four children, son Greg A. Long (Denise) of Hollidaysburg, daughter Gay L. O’Dellick (John) of Altoona, son Gary W. Long of Altoona, and daughter Jill A. Long (Jim McCabe) of Hollidaysburg; three grandchildren, Teah, Joshua, and Justin; three great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Cole, and Karlynn; and numerous extended family members.
Jack was preceded in death by six siblings.
Mr. Long attended Calvary Baptist Church, Altoona.
He was a 1950 graduate of Morrisons Cove High School and, following, a graduate of the Altoona School of Commerce.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving from 1950 to 1954.
Jack retired from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Labor and Industry, Bureau of Employment Security.
There will be no viewing.
Interment will be made at Alto Reste Park Cemetery.
A memorial service to honor Jack is planned to be held in the near future, notice of which will be made to the public.
