Obituary

            James Lee “Jim” Bertoldi, 76 of New Enterprise, formerly of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, died Wednesday evening August 3, 2022, at the VAMC, Lexington, KY following an extended illness of many years.

            He was born February 22, 1946, in Akron, OH a son of the late Ernest and Dorothy (Nicholson) Bertoldi. He married Donna Dively on October 10, 1997.

            Surviving are his wife, Donna; five children, daughter Dawna Hensley (Ed) of Carlisle, KY, daughter Sherri Chatman of Akron, OH, daughter Jennifer Meister (Dave) of New Enterprise, adopted sons Dreygan Oberman and Greyson Oberman both of New Enterprise; twelve grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a special friend, Tim Lightner.

            Jim was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Derrick Chatman in 2021.

            He was a graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School, Cuyahoga Falls, OH.

            He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Vietnam era specializing as gasoline and diesel heavy equipment mechanic.

            Jim retired as a delivery truck driver for Burger King in 1994 with over forty years’ service.

            He enjoyed bowling, watching his grandson’s sporting events, and he most especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

            Jim was a member of Mountain Lodge #281, Free & Accepted Masons; Jaffa Shrine where he was a member and past commander in 2007 of the Jaffa Legion of Honor, and he also was a member of the Jaffa Patrol/Directors Staff where he was a mini-Jeep driver. Jim also served as Captain of the Ushers and worked in the Jaffa Circus ticket office for many years.

            Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday August 12, 2022, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona where a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Duane J. Coy officiating. A Masonic funeral service will follow.

            In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations please be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children-Philadelphia, in care of Jaffa Shrine, 2200 Broad Avenue, Altoona, PA 16601.
