James F. "Jim" Daski

            James F. “Jim” Daski, 86, formerly of Altoona, went home to be with the Lord early Friday morning October 27, 2023, at Maple Winds Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, Portage.

            He was born September 7, 1937, in Altoona, a son of the late Frank and Clara (Spiedel) Daski.

            Surviving are his daughter, Tammy J. Peters of Altoona; a grandson, Brian M. Peters (Tracy) of Memphis, TN; and numerous extended family members.

            Jim was preceded in death by a brother, Franklin Daski.

            Mr. Daski was a member of Second Avenue Global Methodist Church, Altoona.

            He was a 1955 graduate of Altoona High School.

            Jim retired as a purchasing agent from Blair Electric Company following many years’ service.

            He was an accomplished accordion player and was a promoter of many gospel concerts in the local area. He was a regular attendee of his “Dunkin Donuts Coffee Club”.

            Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday October 31, 2023, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona where a memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Brian Sandell officiating.
