Jay Layton Confer

              Jay Layton Confer, Jr., 71 of Altoona died Friday February 9, 2018 at UPMC Altoona.

               He was born April 4, 1946 in Mechanicsburg a son of the late Jay and Evelyn (Gunnett) Confer. He married M. Ilene Amigh on September 4, 1976 in Winchester, VA.

               Surviving are his wife Ilene; a daughter, Ruth A. Wolf and husband William; three grandchildren, Josh, Jordan, and Addesyn; three great grandchildren, Zoey, Liam and Lexi.

               He was a member of Faith Baptist Church.

               Jay was a graduate of Hollidaysburg High School.

               He was a U.S. Airforce veteran.

               He was a member of The Altoona Association of Model Railroader for 41 years.

               A graveside service will be held Monday February 12, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Blair Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel, Bellwood.

               In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Faith Baptist Church, 315-40th Street, Altoona, PA 16602.
