John A. Arthur, Sr.

            John Allen Arthur, Sr., 70, of Altoona died Friday evening January 14, 2022, at UPMC Altoona.

            He was born September 8, 1951, in Altoona a son of the late George A. and Dorothy L. (Lebo) Arthur. He married Desire Ruth Aikens on June 21, 1974 in Altoona.

            Surviving are his wife, Desire; five children, son Thomas Miller of Altoona; son John Allen Arthur, Jr. (Barbara) of Altoona; daughter Sherry L. Stahl (Jason) of North Carolina; son Christopher Scott Arthur of Altoona; son Robert Hayes Arthur of Altoona; five grandchildren, Cierra Miller, Kristen Stahl, Aleyah Arthur, Giana Arthur, and Robert Arthur; a brother, Edward Lebo (Janice) of Altoona; a sister, Sonya Arthur; a brother, Robert Arthur (Mary) of Altoona; a brother, Richard Arthur (Debbie) of Chambersburg; and special nieces and nephews, Sonja Bard, Michelle Stevens, Tina Ingram, Brandon Arthur, and Michael Lebo.

            John was preceded in death by an infant son, Edward Arthur and a nephew Little Eddie Lebo.

            He retired from the maintenance department of Sheetz, Inc. in 2015 following 18 years’ service.

            John loved having coffee with friends and family. He enjoyed keeping a fire roaring in his fireplace to keep the family home warm. He was an avid San Francisco 49er’s fan.

            A private viewing will be held at the convenience of the family.

            Interment will be made at Logan Valley Cemetery.
