Joyce L. Robison, 91, a resident at Colonial Courtyard, Tyrone, formerly of Sinking Valley transitioned very peacefully on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 with family by her side after a lengthy bout with dementia.
She was born the daughter of the late Charles E. and Maude (Mulhollem) Perry and on May 9, 1953, married Robert Robison who preceded her in death on June 10, 2014.
She is survived by her son, Wayne Robison, his wife Susan; granddaughter Kelley McClane (Brian); and great granddaughters Hayden, Reese, and Cameron.
Joyce was also preceded in death by her sister Janet Baumgartner, brother Glenn Perry, and great granddaughter Ireland McClane.
Joyce was a member of Mount Olivet Lutheran Church in Sinking Valley where she previously served as substitute organist. She was a very gifted pianist who until recently could sit at the keyboard and play virtually any song requested by ear.
Joyce was a 1948 graduate of Altoona H.S. and a 1951 graduate of the former Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. She retired as the R.N. of Veeder-Root Co., Duncansville after many years of private duty nursing.
The family offers their utmost thanks to the staff of Colonial Courtyard, Tyrone, Grane Hospice, and her previous caretakers Susan Hritz and Lisa Kiser, as well as her friends and relatives who always made sure she was looked after in her later years in her home. You know who you are and your kindness will never be forgotten.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Everyone should celebrate Joyce in their own way. Her wish was for all who knew and loved her to act with kindness and help those in need.
Memorials in Joyce’s name may be made to Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church, in care of 236 Reeds Lane, Altoona, PA 16601.
