Joyce Y. (Graham) Thompson

            Joyce Y. Thompson, 82 of Altoona died Friday evening April 3, 2020 surrounded by her loving family.

            She was born May 25, 1937 in Altoona a daughter of the late Thomas G. and Anieta (Grenninger) Graham. She married Charles R. “Chuck” Thompson on September 24, 1956 in Hagerstown, MD.

            Surviving are her husband, Chuck; two children, daughter Deborah A. Bohn (Rod) of Trinity, FL; son Allen L. Thompson (Lori) of Altoona; three grandchildren, Adam L. Bohn of Lutz, FL; Alexis L. Hock (Joseph W.) of Duncansville; and Ariel L. Thompson of Altoona; eight great grandchildren, Riley M. Hock, Jacob Thompson, Lucas Hock, Justin Thompson, Madelyn Hock, Aidan Bohn, Mia Bohn and Kai Bohn; and a sister, Lucinda Barger of Phoenix, AZ.

            Joyce was preceded in death by her sister, Karen Thielman.

            Mrs. Thompson was a former member of Simpson-Temple United Parish, Altoona.

            She was a 1955 graduate of Altoona High School.

            Joyce retired as a tax preparer from H&R Block in 2002 following 11 years’ service.

            She had previously been employed in administration by Penn Furniture Company.

            She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed, reading, knitting, playing card games, playing computer games and gardening.

            At Joyce’s request, there will be no viewing.

            A Celebration of Life is planned to be held in the near future for family and friends.
