Margaret L. “Peggy” Barley, 70, Altoona died Thursday evening December 10, 2020 at her residence after a brief illness.
She was born October 25, 1950 in Altoona, daughter of the late Bernard J. Jr. and Margaret (Shubert) Plunket. On May 20, 1972, she married Terry L. Barley in Altoona.
Surviving are her husband, Terry; two sons: Adam C. Barley and his wife, Rachel and Brian M. Barley and his companion, Alicia Killinger; two grandchildren: Alyson M. Barley and Dylan M. Barley; a brother, David Plunket and his wife, Molly; a sister, Jeanne Duffy and her husband, Bill; two half-sisters, Carole Rudella and her husband Chris and Dawn Hughes and her husband, Matt; and numerous beloved nieces.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bernard J. Plunket Jr.; her mother Margaret “Sooty” Wray; her stepfather, Donald R. Wray; and a nephew, Kyle W. Duffy.
She was a 1968 graduate of Altoona Area High School. She retired as a case-worker from the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare following 33 years of service.
Peggy enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading, attending theatrical productions with friends and volunteering to help the less fortunate.
A private visitation and funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.
Interment will be made at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
