Martha Ann Miller

            Martha Ann Miller, 91, of Altoona died Thursday evening December 16, 2021, at UPMC Altoona following a brief illness.

            She was born May 25, 1930, in Yellow Springs, PA a daughter of the late Robert Henry and Dessa Mae (Teeters) Hatch. She married Paul Vincent Miller on January 24, 1953, in Altoona. He preceded her in death April 17, 1973.

            Surviving are three children, daughter Margaret L. “Peggy” Contreras, son Patrick J. Miller (Ava), and daughter Mary J. Maurer (Dan) all of Altoona; nine grandchildren, Leon Hornberger of MN, Kristine Hartley, Dylan Maurer, Destinee Maurer, April Zeigler, and Paul Miller, III all of Altoona, Alan Miller (Kristy), and David Miller (Lizzie) both of East Freedom, and Brandy Lightner of Altoona; sixteen great grandchildren, Alana, Ryleigh, Cheyenne, Annabelle, Alex, Jasmine, Matt, Hailey, Makayla, Nathan, Melanie, Julian, Selena, Angel, Mathew, and Faith; a great great granddaughter, Alyssa; a daughter-in-law, Leeann Miller of Altoona; and a granddaughter, Amanda Gregg of Duncansville.

            Martha was preceded in death by two sons, Paul V. “Butch” Miller, Jr., and Francis C. “Frank” Miller, a grandson, Kevin Robert Zeigler, and a great granddaughter, Cheyenne.

            Mrs. Miller was a former member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Altoona.

            She enjoyed Find-A-Word puzzles and tending to her house plants.

            Martha was a member of Newburg Fire Hall.

            Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday December 20, 2021, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona, where a funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m.

            Interment will be made at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Altoona.
