Michael A. "Mick" Wyandt

            Michael A. “Mick” Wyandt, 65 of Altoona died early Friday afternoon November 6, 2020 at UPMC Altoona.

            He was born August 20, 1955 in Altoona a son of the late William H. and Patricia C. (Beck) Wyandt. He married Toni M. Finochio on September 8, 2001 in Altoona.

            Surviving are his wife, Toni; two daughters, Deawna L. Wyandt of Tyrone and Ashley R. Getz (Matthew) of Altoona; a granddaughter, Sydnee M. Pratt of Tyrone; siblings, William P. Wyandt (Linda) of North Carolina; Gregory P. Wyandt (Debbie) of Hollidaysburg; Diane L. Huber of Eldorado, Altoona; Tony J. Wyandt of Altoona; and Cheryl A. Deihl (Mark) of Altoona; and numerous nieces and nephews.

            Mick was preceded in death by an infant grandson, Wyatt Getz on August 27, 2018.

            He was a 1974 graduate of Altoona Area High School.

            Mick retired from the maintenance department of the Logan Valley Mall in 2019 following five years’ service. He had previously been employed as a sales representative for Holsum-Butter Krust Bakery for over 25 years.

            He enjoyed all types of sports and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Pirates, Pittsburgh Penguins and Penn State fan.

            The family would like to thank the nurses and Dr. Mohammad Alkayem at the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center-Altoona and the 14th floor Oncology staff at UPMC Altoona for the dedicated care Mick received during his illness.

            Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with Rev. Richard H. Maher officiating. Interment will be made at Greenwood Cemetery, Altoona.
