Nancy L. (Haigh) Wininger

            Nancy L. Wininger, 84 of Altoona passed away peacefully on August 4, 2020 at UPMC Altoona following a brief illness.

            She was born June 15, 1936 in Tyrone a daughter of the late James and Rebecca (Isenberg) Haigh. She married Ronald D. Wininger on January 2, 1955.

            Surviving are the love of her life for 70 years, husband Ronald; a daughter, Ronda L. Wininger; granddaughters, Rebecca Yarnell (Todd) and Michelle Schroth (Pat); five great grandchildren; a sister, Arlene Young; a son-in-law, Michael Langenbacher; a very special niece, Tammy Bates; and a close friend, Billi Plowman, who was like a daughter to her.

            She was preceded in death by two daughters, Roni Lynn and Debbie Langenbacher; a beloved sister-in-law, Shirley Holl and a close friend, Jackie Yingling.

            Nancy loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed watching the Red Sox, Cowboys and Celtics with her husband.

            She loved music, attending concerts, dancing and loved going to Newburg to listen to all her favorite bands. She loved going to the movies and would always let her friends and family know if it was going to be “Picture of the Year”.

            Due to COVID-19 restrictions, private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
