Patricia Ruth McGrath, 93, formerly of Johnstown, died early Wednesday morning, June 22, 2022, at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home, Duncansville.
Born on March 23, 1929, a daughter of the late Charles T. and Karleen (Goetz) Johns. On January 16, 1948, she married Patrick J. McGrath in Winchester, Virginia. He preceded her in death on September 15, 1964.
Surviving are two children: Susan Karleen Krenicky (Kenneth) of Philadelphia and Thomas C. McGrath of Duncansville; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great great-granchild; a daughter-in-law, Jean; a son-in-law, Richard; and numerous extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by a son, David M. McGrath; a daughter, Barbara J. Berard; a daughter-in-law, Gina M. McGrath; and a brother, Charles T. Johns.
Mrs. McGrath was a member of Llyswen United Methodist Church, Altoona. She was a 1947graduate of Johnstown High School.
Patricia enjoyed food and cooking, playing cards, oil painting, and loved reading a good book. Most of all, she strongly loved her family and especially, all her grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday, June 25, 2022, at First United Methodist Church of Hollidaysburg, 801 Allegheny Street, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648, where the 11 a.m. funeral service will be held, Pastor Paul Bottenfield officiating. A private interment will be made at Grandview Cemetery, Johnstown.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a memorial donation in honor of Patricia to a charity of your choice.
