Paul V. “Butch” Miller, Jr., 64 of Altoona died Monday evening April 12, 2021 at UPMC Altoona.
He was born April 21, 1956 in Altoona a son of Martha Ann (Hatch) Miller and the late Paul Vincent Miller, Sr. He married Lee Ann Hooven on July 16, 2005 in Altoona.
Surviving are his wife, Lee Ann; his mother of Altoona; five children, Natalie A. Hockenberry (Jacob) and Paul V. Miller, III all of Altoona; Alan M. Miller (Kristy) of East Freedom; Michelle R. Lego (Ronald) of Altoona; David L. Miller (Lizzie) of East Freedom; eleven grandchildren, Jayden, Melanie, Jasmine, Nathan, Kali, Mackenzie, Selena, Angel, Zane, Matthew, and Faith; three siblings, Margaret “Peggy” Contreras, Patrick Miller and Mary Maurer (Daniel) all of Altoona; his former wife, Sharon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Butch was preceded in death by his father on April 16, 1973; a granddaughter, Cheyenne; a brother, Francis “Frank” Miller on August 28, 2020; a nephew, Kevin Zeigler on February 28, 2020; and a brother-in-law, Marcelano “Buck” Contreras.
He was employed as a dismantler/machine operator for Mueller Auto Recycling and Scrap with over forty years’ service.
Butch enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, bowling, camping tinkering with cars, and a cold Coors beer.
He was a life member of the Bavarian Aid Society and a member of the Bald Eagle Ridge Runners, Inc. camping club.
Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. Friday April 16, 2021 at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona where a funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Duane J. Coy officiating.
