Phyllis Jane (Snyder) Boggs

            Phyllis Jane Boggs, 92 of Altoona died Thursday evening June 13, 2019 at UPMC Altoona.

She was born February 7, 1927 in Petersburg, PA a daughter of the late Paul C. and Dorothy G. (Dean) Snyder. She married Stanley E. Boggs on December 3, 1954 in Winchester, VA. He preceded her in death October 6, 1980.

            Surviving are three children, daughter Barbara Vaughn of Berlin, MD; daughter Diane Croft and her husband Kenneth of Altoona; son Gregg Boggs of Altoona; two grandchildren, grandson Rob Simington; granddaughter Kristy Weyant; four great grandchildren, Melissa Hulme and her husband Max, Justin Cassett, Juliana Ferguson and Jaydan Bond; two great grandchildren, Roczan and Jenna; and two sisters, Betty Miller and Dotti Foster.

            Phyllis was preceded in death by a son Jeffrey M. Boggs; a granddaughter Debra Bond and two brothers, Harold and John Snyder.

            Mrs. Boggs was a member of Greenwood United Methodist Church, Altoona.

            She graduated from Petersburg High School.

            Phyllis retired as a crew leader in the dietary department of the Altoona Hospital in 1992 after fifteen years’ service.

            She enjoyed word search puzzles and attending Bible study.

            Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. on Monday June 17, 2019 at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona where a funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Duane J. Coy officiating. Interment will be made at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.
