R. Marie (Bryan) Lawruk, 82, of Altoona died peacefully Tuesday morning, May 3, 2022, at her residence.
She was born June 29, 1939, in Altoona, a daughter of the late Elizabeth “Granny” Buschle and Edward “Pop” Adams. On July 30, 1960, she married Adam S. Lawruk at St. Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, Altoona. He preceded her in death on July 23, 2020.
Surviving are a daughter, Gina A. Lawruk; a granddaughter, Jordan E. Dublin; her beloved cocker spaniel, Teddy; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom she held dear to her heart.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Bryan and a sister, Elizabeth “Sis” Christopher.
Mrs. Lawruk was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Hollidaysburg, where she proudly served as a Eucharistic minister and reader.
Marie was a 1957 graduate of Altoona Catholic High School. She retired from Lawruk Builders following over 30 years’ service.
She enjoyed golfing, traveling, playing cards, and most especially, loved spending time with her family and friends. Marie was a member of Park Hills Country Club.
She will be deeply missed by all those who knew her and loved her.
Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday May 6, 2022, at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 312 Clark Street, Hollidaysburg, where a funeral mass will be celebrated at 7:00 p.m., Very Rev. Alan E. Thomas, VG officiating. Interment will be made at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
