Richard Allan Felty, Sr.

Richard Allan Felty Sr., 67, Altoona, died early Thursday morning November 7, 2019 at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

He was born March 8, 1952 in Baltimore, Md., son of the late Claude C. Jr. and Elinor Kathleen (Meyd) Felty. On Aug. 7, 1999, he married Doris Jean Conrad in Altoona.

Surviving are his wife, Doris; his son, Richard Allan Felty Jr. in Maryland; his daughter, Lisa Wood in Maryland; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two sisters: Kathleen M. Fuller of Salem, Ill., and Patricia Ann Marks of Pasadena, Md.

He was preceded in death by two brothers: Claude C. “Bud” Felty III and Michael Joseph Felty.

Richard was a U.S. Marine Corps and Maryland Army National Guard veteran. He retired as a roofer from J.C. Orr and Son.

He was a member of the Gallitzin American Legion, Memorial Post 174.

Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing and four-wheeling and was a die-hard Colts fan.

Friends will be received from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11, 2019, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Ave., Altoona, where a funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. Monday, with the Rev. Charles Baughman officiating.
