Richard M. “Pap” Irvin, 73, died Saturday morning November 17, 2018 at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, Altoona.
He was born April 4, 1945 in Altoona a son of the late Samuel Herbert and Grace Ella (Reigh) Irvin.
Surviving are a sister, Peggy J. Brown of North Ft. Myers, FL; six nieces and nephews, Bette E. Fischer, Jeffrey R. Brown, James H. Irvin, Janet L. Hazlett, Richard J. Brown and Carol L. Merritt; numerous great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews; and his wonderful caregivers and “family” at Skills.
Richard was preceded in death by a brother, John H. Irvin in 2006.
Mr. Irvin was a member of Second Avenue United Methodist Church, Altoona.
He enjoyed trains and watching baseball and football. Richard enjoyed watching old westerns, especially John Wayne movies.
A future memorial service is planned to be held in the spring with interment to be made at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.
