Richard Thomas "Rich" Lloyd

     Richard T. Lloyd, 85, of Altoona, went to be with his heavenly father on October 5, 2023, after a wonderful life where he loved and was loved very deeply.

     Richard was born in Altoona on December 2, 1937, the only son of the late Raymond Edward and Louise Mary (Bokal) Lloyd. Richard graduated from Altoona High school in 1958 and worked for Boyer Brothers.  He retired from Frye’s Sweeper and Sewing Center after many years’ service.

 The true joy of his life was his family, and he was an exceptional husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.  Richard married his high school sweetheart, Beverly A. Hughes, on October 25, 1958. They have one daughter, Sherrie Ann.  Richard enjoyed golfing with his many friends and fishing and hunting with his grandson, Scott and great grandson, Liam.  He has been a member of Sinking Valley Country Club since 1970 and enjoyed all of the friends he made along the way through golf.  He was also belonged to Riggles Gap Sportsman Club. Rich & Bev spent all of their days committed to one another and their family. Most recently, he most enjoyed watching his great grandchildren play sports, having breakfast with friends and attending his church, Fields of Harvest Fellowship.

  He is survived by his beloved wife, Beverly; only daughter Sherrie A. Buchanan; beloved son-in-law Douglas; grandchildren Scott D. Buchanan (Holly) and Julie E. Sheetz (Ryan); and his great grandchildren: Liam, Elliott, Hudson, Sawyer, and Elise, who all miss him dearly.  His home is filled with hundreds of photos of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  His family has been so fortunate to be loved for so long by such an incredible man.

   A visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday, October 9, 2023, at Fields of Harvest Fellowship Church, 3620 5th Avenue, Altoona, where a funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Hud Crossman officiating.
