Robert Lewis "Bob" Beck

Robert Lewis “Bob” Beck, 76, Altoona, died Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at UPMC Altoona.

He was born September 11, 1944 in Altoona, son of the late Ruben M. and Thelma (Wilson) Beck.

He was twice married, first on April 14, 1967, to Helen Marjorie Williams, who preceded him in death on March 6, 2000, then to Barbara Long, who preceded him in death on May 25, 2005.

Surviving are a son, Robert W. Beck (Jennifer Stoianoff) of Altoona; five siblings: Eunice P. Beck, N. Dan Beck (Robin), K. Van Beck (Sandy), W. Scott Beck and June Ann Beck, all of Altoona; and numerous extended family.

Bob was preceded in death by an infant sister.

He was a 1962 graduate of Altoona High School and a Pennsylvania National Guard veteran. He retired from the maintenance department of Veeder-Root and served as a Pennsylvania Waterways Conservation Officer for 49 years. He was a member of Trans4mation Church, Altoona. He was also a member of the Altoona Corvette Club, the Central Pennsylvania Veteran Guard Association and the Sports Car Club of America.

Bob enjoyed genealogy, fishing and photography.

Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Ave., and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 20, 2020, at Trans4mation Church, Altoona, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Pastor Jim Balzano officiating. Interment will be made at Greenwood Cemetery, Altoona.
