Robert M. Nagl, 82, of Altoona, died Thursday afternoon, April 21, 2022, at his residence.
Born on November 13, 1939, in Altoona, a son of the late John and Emma (Kapfhammer) Nagl. On November 19, 1960, he married Carol L. Watson in Altoona. She preceded him in death on March 20, 2005.
Surviving are two daughters: Colleen R. Russell of Missouri and Tammy A. Gardner (Bob) of Altoona; four grandchildren: Tasha N. Krise, Lyndsey B. Baker (Ryan), Ethan J. Gardner all of Altoona and Josh A. Russell of Nebraska; three great-grandchildren: Ivory A. Krise, James W. Leake III, Nora L. Baker; a great-granddaughter, Baby Baker, on the way; one brother: Norman G. Nagl (Sue); and numerous extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother, John E. Nagl.
Mr. Nagl was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Altoona.
Robert was employed for 41 years as a heavy equipment operator for the City of Altoona until his retirement on June 21, 2006.
He enjoyed sitting on his front porch, sharing a cup of coffee with family, and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2022, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602, until the 7 p.m. funeral service, Very Rev. Ronald V. Osinski officiating.
Interment will be held privately at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.
