Robert Charles Pine

              Robert “Bob” Charles Pine, 90 of Altoona died Saturday January 20, 2018 after a brief illness.

               He was born February 23, 1927 in Altoona a son of the late Charles and Catherine (Herr) Pine.

               Surviving are a sister, Shirley P. Kitzmiller; a nephew, David L. Kitzmiller and wife Sharon and a niece, Diane M. Kitzmiller.

               He was preceded in death by a brother, William M. Pine

               Mr. Pine was a lifetime member of Bethany Lutheran Church where he served as treasurer.

               He was a 1945 graduate of Altoona High School and a 1951 graduate of Shippensburg State Teachers College.

               Bob was a U.S. Army veteran.

               He retired as a math teacher from Roosevelt Junior High School.

               He was a member of Hiram Lodge #616 F&AM.

               Bob loved animals, gardening and watching birds outside his window. He also enjoyed watching sports.

               A memorial service will take place Sunday April 29, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church, 200 Third Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602.

               Internment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.
