Ronald Richard "Pap" Fink, Sr.

            Ronald Richard “Pap” Fink, Sr., 83 of Altoona died Monday morning June 24, 2019 at his residence following an extended illness.

            He was born October 15, 1935 in Altoona a son of the late William Lambert and Margretta C. (Cartwright) Fink. He married Barbara Ann Yohn on June 20, 1958 in Greenwood, Altoona. She preceded him in death April 11, 2005.

            Surviving are four children, son Ronald Richard Fink, Jr. (Amy Schraff) of Altoona; daughter Cristina M. Ryan (George Chestnut) of New Bethlehem; daughter Juanita A. Harten (Dale); daughter Rhonda L. Fink (Chris Burk) all of Altoona; nine grandchildren, Mark Fink (Brandi Feathers); Kristopher Fink (Elizabeth); Ronald Fink, III; Joshua Harten; Danielle Molina (Jeremy); Amber Fink; Michael Ryan (Brittany Vrana); Justin Fink (Kayla); Brandon Fink; nineteen great grandchildren; and numerous extended family.

            Ronald was preceded in death by an infant sister, Carol Jean; a sister Shirley Stotler, a brother William Fink and a sister Joann Gilbert.

            Mr. Fink was a U.S. Army veteran.

            He retired from the Altoona Shoe Factory as a cutter/gluer after 24 years’ service.

            Ronald enjoyed taking spontaneous car rides to wherever he felt he wanted to go at the time.

            Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. Friday June 28, 2019 and 10-11 a.m. Saturday June 29, 2019 at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Richard Harter officiating. Interment will be made at Carson Valley Cemetery, Duncansville.

            In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations please be made to the American Cancer Society, Blair County Unit, 1004 North Juniata Street, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
