Shirley Jane “Sneezy” McFadden, 86 of Altoona died early Monday morning November 28, 2022, at UPMC Altoona.
She was born July 7, 1936, in Altoona a daughter of the late Charles Wilson and Rebecca May (Stewart) Woolridge. She married Robert L. McFadden, Sr. on April 10, 1956, in Winchester, VA. He preceded her in death November 6, 1992.
Surviving are two children, daughter Kathy A. Crownover of Altoona, and son Robert L. “Bob” McFadden, Jr. of Bellefonte; five grandchildren, Kelli Irvin, Melissa Pittinger (Brian), David Crownover (Stephanie Plummer), Jason McFadden (Alyssa), and Ryan Crownover; thirteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and numerous extended family members.
Shirley was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Danielle Wetzel.
Mrs. McFadden was a member of Canan Station Mennonite Church.
She was a 1954 graduate of Altoona High School.
She retired from the accounting department of Ward Trucking, and she had previously been employed by Bon Secours Hospital and earlier by Gables Department Store in their accounting departments.
Shirley loved spending time with her family, especially the “little ones”.
She also enjoyed ceramics.
Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday December 1, 2022, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona where a funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m., the Rev. Jack Styer officiating. Interment will be made at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.
