Ty J. Clouser, 60, of Altoona died Sunday afternoon January 23, 2022, at UPMC Altoona.
He was born March 9, 1961, in Altoona a son of Sylvia Ann (Carrig) Clouser and the late John Joseph Clouser. He married Catherine Ann Drosdick on July 30, 1983, in Pittsburgh.
Surviving are his wife, Cathy; his mother, Sylvia; two sons, Bron A. Clouser (Amy) of Duncansville, and Brant M. Clouser (Laura) of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; five grandchildren, Wyatt, Owen, Colten, and Lincoln, and Cayden; a sister, Kelly R. Clouser (Linda Malley) of Pittsburgh; and a brother, Chad J. Clouser (Jacqueline) of Hollidaysburg.
Ty was preceded in death by a daughter, Breanna, and a brother, Troy A. Clouser.
Mr. Clouser was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Altoona.
He was a 1979 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic High School, he then attended Lock Haven University for a year before graduating from Mt. Aloysius College in 1982 with a BS in Nursing.
Ty was currently employed as a Registered Nurse in the Recovery Room at Tyrone Hospital following over forty years’ service in Nursing.
He loved spending time with his entire family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing, grilling, and cooking, and his side-yard pond. Ty enjoyed coaching his sons in football and wrestling.
He was a member of Hiram Lodge, #616 F. & A.M.; Jaffa Shrine where he belonged to the Patrol/Directors Staff where he drove one of the mini-Jeeps. He was also a life member of both the Bavarian Aid Society, and the Unter Uns Society.
Friends will be received from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday February 4, 2022, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona where a Masonic service will be held at 7:00 p.m.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday February 5, 2022, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Altoona with Rev. Lubomir Strecok officiating. Committal rites will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
