William E. “Billy” Freidenbloom, 72 of Altoona died early Wednesday morning July 14, 2021 at UPMC Altoona.
He was born April 28, 1949, in Hollidaysburg a son of the late William Edgar Freidenbloom and Patricia Ann (Hetrick) Freidenbloom Harr. He married Kathy L. Barroner on December 18, 1998, at First United Methodist Church, Hollidaysburg.
Surviving are his wife, Kathy; two daughters, Julie K. Paul (Adam Alberter) of Hollidaysburg; Kayla J. Grove of Altoona; two grandchildren, Christian Paul, and Brody Alberter; five siblings, Vicki S. Long (David), Kathy A. Yarwood both of Altoona; Chriss A. McGinnis (Dan), Aaron C. Harr (Kara) both of Hollidaysburg; Carrie E. Rhodes (Bill) of Duncansville; nieces and nephews: Jennifer, Jason, Nicole, Jordan, Chelsey, Nathan, Kyle, Miranda, Ethan, Madison, Austin; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
Billy was preceded in death by a brother, Ricki Freidenbloom, an infant brother, Matthew Harr, and his stepfather, Dalvin C. “Buck” Harr.
Mr. Freidenbloom was a member of First United Methodist Church, Hollidaysburg.
He was a graduate of Hollidaysburg High School.
Billy retired from the contracting department of Lowe’s following over fifteen years’ service.
He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, and he also was a history buff and enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a Penn State and Pittsburgh sports fan.
Friends will be received from 3-6 p.m. Monday July 19, 2021, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona where a memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. John Godissart officiating.
