Jodie Lynn (Krull) Koegler, 45, of Carterville, IL, formerly of Altoona went to be with the Lord on February 2, 2017 surrounded by her loving family, after a seven year battle with leukemia.

She was born in Johnstown and raised in Lilly, the daughter of Edward Krull and Joan (McNally) Krull and was the next to the youngest of seven children. She married Matthew Koegler on August 3, 1996 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Altoona, where she was a member until moving with her husband and sons to Illinois in 2012.

Surviving are her parents; her loving husband of 20 years; three sons who were the light of her life, Ryan Koegler in Savannah, GA; Private Second Class Collin Koegler stationed in Arizona; Evan Koegler at home; a step-son, Justin Koegler (Jessica) and a step-grandson Brody all in Grain Valley, MO; three sisters, Lorrie Zimmerman (Kirk); Becky Kowalczyk (Randy); and Shelly Krull all of Altoona; three brothers, Brian Krull (Julie) of Lancaster; Patrick Krull (Heather) of Altoona; and Kevin Krull (Kathleen) of Knoxville, TN; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Jodie was a 1989 graduate of Penn Cambria High School.

She loved spending time with her family, and her dog and constant companion, Lucky.

She was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed reading her daily devotions, practicing her faith and encouraging others with kind words and prayers.

She treasured her Twitter and Facebook friends who shared her love for Rafael (Rafa) Nadal, and she was an avid Tom Brady and New England Patriots fan.

Her sense of humor will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all who knew and loved her so very much. She will always be an inspiration to many for the courage and determination she demonstrated during her long battle with cancer. Her love of life and relentless spirit were like a ray of sunshine.

A celebration of Jodie’s life will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, February 17, 2017 at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 511-20th Street, Altoona with Monsignor Stanley Carson, celebrant. A private committal service will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
