My most sincere sympathy to Gordon's family. I was Gordy's sister, Karen, best friend growing up in Juniata. We would get into so much trouble messing around in his room and getting into his baseball cards. I remember how Karen and I would have to do his paper route when he was away. The best part was stopping at a cool spring covering and drinking the cool mountain water. I was fortunate to run into Gordon a couple times as an adult. He was such a gentle loving man. The world is a better place because of him. He will be missed.

I was lucky enough to meet Gordon in 1970 when we worked together for DPW Region IV under the Day Care licensing section. Also witnessed Gordon and Becky falling in love (watching the cows laying down). Although I have not seen Gordon for 40 years I will always remember him. My condolences to Becky and family.

I'm so sorry to hear this news; Gordon was well-respected at Penn State Altoona, especially in the HDFS department. We appreciated his approach to teaching, his genuine nature with students, his vast knowledge of human services and people in need, and his unending willingness to actively participate in departmental projects--he was always ready to help out when needed and provide input and feedback to facilitate the effective functioning of the program. I'm so sorry for your loss, and know that he was very much appreciated on so many levels at Penn State Altoona....we were lucky enough to get to know Beth as well, so I know that his goodness lives on in her and the rest of the family as well. Our thoughts are with you at this time....

So very sorry about the loss of our friend, Gordon. Although he was truly dedicated to his work over so many years, his heart and soul was always his family. (He gave us a lot of great parenting advice over the years too.) We loved him. May God give you comfort and peace.
