Linda Louise (Ritchey) Halbritter, 64 of Altoona died early Monday morning July 18, 2016 at her residence. She was born October 12, 1951 in Altoona a daughter of the late Harold Rex and Natalie Irene (Reed) Ritchey.

            Surviving are a son James Harold Mills of Altoona; a sister Suzanne Rebholz of Pittsburgh; her former husband David Halbritter of Martinsburg; and numerous extended family.

            Linda was a 1969 graduate of Central High School and the mechanics program at the Altoona Area Vo-Tech School.

            She was previously employed as a supervisor for Sears Automotive and she also enjoyed working as a caregiver for Skills for many years.

            She was a former organist, piano player and cantor for St. John’s United Church of Christ, Martinsburg.

            Linda enjoyed puzzles; video games; gymnastics; watching “Jeopardy” and “Wheel of Fortune”. She also enjoyed playing the clarinet, oboe and organ; and singing and dancing.

            Linda was the “neighborhood mom” and loved her cat, “Tom”.

            She also was a faithful donor to the police and firefighters and other groups as she was able.

            There will be no viewing or services.

            In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society, 1837 East Pleasant Valley Boulevard, Altoona, PA 16602.
