Patricia M. “Patty” Brown, 89 of Altoona, died Friday October 14, 2016 at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

She was born December 23, 1926 in Altoona, a daughter of the late Paul M. and Eleanor M. (Barnhart) Walker. She was married to Newman A. Brown for 55 plus years. He preceded her in death on December 20, 1980.

Surviving are two daughters, Delilah K. Brown and Quinnlan P. Persun both of Altoona; three grandchildren, Marl N. Fisher, Jennifer P. Kendail, Roseann M. Swander; eight great grandchildren; a brother, Paul M. Walker; three sisters, Susan Elserman, Margaret E. Gneiss, Mary Ann Dearborn; nine nieces and nephews and six great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter Deborah Brown.

Mrs. Brown was a former member of 8th Avenue Methodist Church. Where she was the Minister of Music.

She was a graduate of Altoona High School and received a bachelor degree in music from Juniata College.

She retired as a librarian from Westberlin, PA and previously worked as a substitute teacher.

She was a former member of the Red Hats Society

Patty enjoyed reading mystery books, playing computer games and loved to make people smile.

Memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday November 5, 2016 at Lighthouse Independent Baptist Church, 524 24th Ave, Altoona, PA 16601.
